This study of the Industrial Revolution, from 1690 to 1914,
was first given as a forty five minute talk to members of the
Filey & District Probus Club, North Yorkshire, England,
On June 21, 2000. The text of the talk is here freely
available for other speakers.
Readers may be interested to learn that all the members
were retired business and professional men, many of whom have
given their own talks to the club. This talk, and future talks on this
site, are therefore dedicated to them, and other
potential "Member Talkers" who may wish to use them.
A large majority of retired men have spent their working lives in
the various industries mentioned in the text. Therefore in
deference to them, care was taken in the preparation of this study.
However, research is only as good as its source, or its
sorcerer. Therefore any suggestions for change, that the readers
may have, will be gratefully received.
